Ok before I go any further I will admit I am an idiot!
The last few months I have spent concentrating on eating healthy cutting out all sugar and caffeine, alcohol. I have attended acupuncture twice a week taken so many different types of chinese herbs plus flaxseed oil, folate, royal jelly, spirulina shots and tried to de stress my life. All whilst returning to uni, dealing with the miscarriage and my friends cancer.
You would think an intelligent "normal" person would also double check to make sure they had the right visa.
After 3 gate changes at Singapore airport, of course each change was, I kid you not about a km away from the last, and a flight to Delhi with NO AIRCON working! I felt I had been quite resilient for my first trip overseas. I dealt with each "stress" in a calm manner and practising deep breathing even when it was so bloody hot I thought I would pass out.
Upon entering Delhi I was told my visa was still valid but I "forgot" that it was just a single entry visa. Still calm and coping I asked if a temporary visa could be granted. I was told "yes" only for a few countries..... luckily I still have my New Zealand passport as Australia was not one of the "chosen" countries.
Still calm I approached the temporary visa desk where I found two very relaxed and friendly men who explained that this was possible with a fee of 2,750inr. All good, all I had to do was fill in a simple one page form, they were to photocopy my passport and give me change. Sounds like it would take say half an hour tops! Especially as I was the only blonde bimbo in line! But NO the photocopy machine was located 1 hour away......... Im sure he stopped for breakfast, lunch and dinner each way. Then he comes back with the photocopy and says he needs to just go over and do the money exchange. More than 2 hours later I was pacing up and down minus $100 Australian dollars and my passport, waiting for a complete stranger to bring back my passport and visa! I kept getting Texts from Rahul, "Where are you Madam" "Are you ok" and "what has happened Madam"...... All I can say is thank god for Rahul, he waited for just under 2.5 hours and I was a little frazzled by the time I saw him. Ok I'm over being a big girl now, I need my hubby to look after me, I admit it!!!!
BUT Im here now so all good and I think I need lots of champagne when this cycle ends! Cheers!!!
