The first time
I received an email from Dr Shivani saying the baby we lost was a little girl and the test came back showing no abnormalities. I didn't expect the sex to be revealed and was quite upset. Although I really don't care if we have a boy or a girl and just hope for a healthy baby it just made our loss more real. Dr Shivani asked for a name so she could dedicate a special prayer, we named her India Hope Baker. Hoping we don't have anymore bad news on this front.
The second time
I was shocked and saddened to hear from my friend Catherine who has had the worst year ever and now has cancer to contend with. Catherine and I became very close friends in mothers group 13 years ago. We have been through so much together and have so much in common. Earlier this year Catherine's husband left her and her child and now she is in for the fight of her life. I have always admired her strength and determination and she is proving to be strong and optimistic for her future. I want to be there for her and help her through this she is so strong and brave and an inspirational woman. I hope I can help ease some of her worries and lessen her load by helping her and being there to listen to her and hold her hand.
The third time
When I received an updated post from Alex and Jill that their surrogate is experiencing bleeding. I really hope this is just a scare and that everything settles down. My thoughts are with you both at this worrying time.
I believe in the power of positive thought, karma and miracles. Life is so precious and these situations remind us to saviour every moment and be grateful for all our blessings in life. I have much to be grateful for and I am thinking of my friend Catherine and all my friends in the Surrogacy world and I am so lucky to have you all and I wish you only the very best news from now on. xx
