How we got here......

My husband (MB) and I have a 12y/o who is the best thing that has ever happened to us, EVER! We had a pretty rough ride with the pregnancy, birth and our baby was a sick baby. Our son (Jay) ended up being a sick little boy! After many challenges we are so proud of how medically well things have turned out for Jay yet my medical problems relating to pregnancy have meant we have been unable to have anymore children.

It took just over 12months to be accepted on the adoption and permanent care waiting list and then years of waiting, to no avail! We decided to give up this option after much heartache mid 2009.
Since then we have tried to move on and suck it up when people constantly ask Don't you want more children? or Poor Jay, he must be lonely! or I'm sure Jay wishes he had a brother or sister! NO ONE ever thought maybe we have tried, maybe we can't! So we just ended up saying yes we would have loved to and try to leave it at that. Let me say right here and now, we are eternally grateful for Jay and if we don't have any more children, nothing will change that! Yet we would love him to have a sibling/s and we would love to have another child! So after much research, we are off to India with Dr Shivani to try our last option of surrogacy.

  1. Hi lucylu. I just read back to your beginning story and realised where the HG comes into it. Our daughter, only surviving child of HG is 13 this year! Hugs, honey. Now you're on a new path to your next part of motherhood. You are so deserving of this journey. xxx zee
