I have just returned from India and got to meet up with Kai's surrogate and have a wonderful chat with lots of laughter and I found out soooo much more about her and her life. She has agreed to try again for a sibling for Kai and I kept asking are you sure you want to do this?? She kept laughing saying Im really sure it was a great experience last time and I do want to try again.
I showed her videos and pics of Kai and she loved seeing them. I asked her if she felt sad at times not having a baby after being pregnant and she was like no way!! I have a 13 year old daughter and she is very difficult at the moment and a younger son. Life is busy enough!
I asked her if she wanted a copy of the photo of all of us after Kai was born and she said she already has it and she made it very big and it is framed and on her wall at home. She said she doesn't like the pic of her (as she says she looks pale) but she wanted to have it so everyone could see it. This really threw me....I told her how some people think we are exploiting women in India and she said no no no I wanted to do it and I want to do it again, I think for myself. She said all her friends and relatives know and they think it is wonderful....what a surprise and a relief.
Many other topics were talked about and I was just buzzing when we finally said our goodbyes and hugged again and again!
Kai is nearing 20 months old and is all sorts of crazy.....into everything, very clever, very switched on and very very busy!!
We have transferred to frozen embies and await our results now.....
Just want to say to anyone thinking about starting this journey to get lots of info and talk to other IPs we are the ones who have travelled this road and talk to lots of IPs that have used a particular clinic there are always people who have positive experiences and negative....that's life with all clinics but don't take only advice from anyone getting paid as an agent or employee from a clinic, as of course they are going to say to go where they get paid. There is so many untruths being told out there and so many misconceptions so talk to those that have been there done it and NOT just those being paid.
If an agent or employee needs to tell you stories about other clinics, I would be very wary......professional ethical people don't need to bag another clinic or country for business. What ever clinic or country you go through I wish you every bit of luck and success and a great experience. Let's make sure we all support one another as IP's regardless of who we go through and be mindful everyone has been through so much hardship and heartbreak to get here today xx

What an amazing experience! I love that Kai's surrogate is such a strong woman. Good luck with this transfer - I pray it comes out a positive and you have an uneventful and healthy pregnancy!
