Friday night we were suppose to get our scan results and they didn't come through. They usually come through not long after midnight or sometimes around 2am Sat morning.
I emailed Dr Shivani and she said Dr Jolly cancelled 8 scans on Friday due to a medical emergency so we didn't get them til 2am Sunday Morning.
Hubby wanted me to sleep so he took my phone out of my bedroom last night and said we will check in the morning. I said what if Dr rings with bad news? He said we don't want to know just before bed.....this is when we got bad news on our 1st attempt with Dr Shivani.
I slept ok.....a few thoughts about the scan woke me but I pushed them aside and fell back to sleep every time.
When I woke this morning my Hubby flung my mobile at me and said look its all ok. I was still half asleep and it turns out poor Hubby had been up and down til 1:40am checking emails on my phone in the lounge! Funny bloke! Here he is telling me to sleep and he had got up several times to check! Evener funnier the email came through at 1:50 just as he gave up! LOL!
Sorry the suspense is killing you isn't it!
We passed the 8 wk scan, fetus measures 8 wks 3 days and heartbeat is 152bpm.
Hubby was so happy and excited but I just can't feel that way yet, it's too early for me and after what happened to me, then Rene. I know that although it's great we have got passed this scan anything can still happen.
As soon as I allowed myself to feel positive last time we received the dreaded call from Dr Shivani, so as superstitious as it sounds (never was superstitious til now) I am just taking it one scan at a time and protecting myself.
Thanks for all your support surro buddies you rock and I know in joy or sorrow you will all be there for me as I am for you!!!!

ReplyDeleteWe are at exactly the same stage as you, even more interesting is that one of our pregnancies has exactly the same stats as yours - heart rate and foetal measurement age - weird!
I allow myself fleeting moments of happiness when scans come then box them away until next scan date but even talking about containing the emotion is exhausting.

ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Let it continue growing healthily and happily! We do get ourselves in a mess before these scans, and your poor hubby running about checking your phone made me smile. We have our 16 week scan tmrw and I will again become the phone checking monster and ruin my sleep until that result arrives in my inbox. Hoping the next few weeks fly by for you! X
